Tennis coach Juan Carlos Ferrero is addressing his departure from Carlos Alcaraz while weighing future coaching opportunities that could involve competing against his former player. as.com reported that the former world number one discussed his recent book, Winning Mindset, during an appearance on Cadena SER’s The Crossbar program.
The Split With Carlos Alcaraz
Ferrero declined to air private grievances regarding the end of his professional partnership with Alcaraz at the conclusion of last year. These are personal matters; one shouldn’t broadcast what’s going on inside. I suppose the story of my breakup with Carlos would be enough for another book.
Ferrero said, according to as.com.
During their time together, Ferrero focused heavily on helping the young star manage his emotions on the court. He also cautioned Alcaraz about external distractions, though he admits those warnings went unheeded. What I worked on most with Carlos was self-control. I also warned him about his company, dangerous friendships, and I told him who his real friends were and who was only there for his own gain. I told him not to look at social media… but that was a losing battle.
Ferrero stated, as reported by as.com.
Ferrero Considers Coaching Rafa Jódar or Jannik Sinner
Looking ahead, Ferrero feels the instinct to return to competitive coaching, though nothing is finalized for 2027. Rumors have linked him to rising Spanish player Rafa Jódar, whose ambition has caught the coach’s attention. Jódar seems very hungry and eager. I’m not ruling out coaching him. He has tremendous potential, he’s very motivated, he’s young, he wants to conquer the world, and if an offer comes, I’ll consider it.
Ferrero said, according to as.com.

The former coach has also been mentioned as a possible candidate to train Jannik Sinner. Ferrero insisted he would not rule out working with Alcaraz’s main rival despite their recent history. I want to continue growing as a coach and I don’t want to close that door on myself. And those who say it’s unethical for me to coach Sinner because I coached Alcaraz aren’t thinking about me. If I were his coach and Sinner played against Alcaraz, I’d have to control myself.
Ferrero explained, as reported by as.com.
