ROME, April 2, 2025 –⁣ Over 1,000‍ individuals associated with the Bio-Medical Campus – including students, professors, medical staff, researchers, administrators, technicians, and volunteers, along with their ⁢families – participated in a pilgrimage to St. Peter’s Basilica on‍ Wednesday. Twelve buses departed from the Trigoria headquarters, joining hundreds of others at ‌Piazza Pia.

Jubilee of Hope Marked​ by mass and Reflection

The⁣ gathering marked a importent moment in the institution’s history, celebrating a Jubilee ‌of hope. Participants walked along ‌Via‌ della Conciliazione,passed through the Holy Door,and⁤ attended Mass ⁤inside the Basilica,reaffirming their shared mission of service to others.

Inspired by Founders’ Vision

The event was inspired by the vision of Blessed Álvaro del ​Portillo, who, following the teachings of San Josemaría Escrivá, envisioned a university and ‍polyclinic in Rome dedicated to‍ education and care, especially for the ⁣young and vulnerable. This vision has been realized through the ‌dedication of a community committed to combining⁤ progress with humanity, education with‍ care, and innovation ⁤with respect for human dignity.

Cardinal Gambetti Leads Mass

Cardinal Mauro Gambetti,Archpriest of St. Peter’s Basilica,concelebrated the Mass with Don​ Giovanni Manfrini,Vicar of Opus Dei in Italy,and Don Luca Brenna,director of the Bio-Medical Campus chaplaincy,along with other‍ chaplains. The university choir ‍provided music for the service.

Participants Reflect on Pilgrimage

Claudia ⁣Pagavino, ⁣a nurse at the Oncological Day Hospital of the Bio-Medical Campus Polyclinic, noted the personal impact of the pilgrimage. “Every day⁣ our work presents challenges and suffering, ‌but this pilgrimage reminded⁤ me that care extends beyond technical gestures; ⁣it is a path of closeness and hope alongside patients and their families,” Pagavino⁣ said.

Marianna ⁤Amura, a third-year medical student, echoed this sentiment. “Walking‍ alongside my fellow students, teachers, and everyone⁣ present was a tangible sign of what it means to be part of this community: to advance ⁤together for a better future,” Amura said.
