Judah Rimbu: Castleford Tigers Exit Confirmed | Super League News
Judah Rimbu Released, Seeks New Rugby League Role
Updated June 14, 2025
Judah Rimbu, the hooker for the Castleford Tigers, has been granted a release from his contract by mutual consent. The 23-year-old, who signed a two-year deal in 2024 after transferring from the PNG Hunters of the Queensland Cup, made 10 appearances for the first team. He also played in reserve games. However, Rimbu struggled to consistently secure a spot in Castleford’s lineup, impacting his desired role within the team.
The Castleford Tigers agreed to let Rimbu explore other opportunities after discussions about his future. The club acknowledged his desire for more playing time.
Chris Chester, director of rugby for the Tigers, acknowledged Rimbu’s contribution. He also explained the circumstances surrounding the release. The team could not guarantee him the first-team opportunities he sought.
“I would like to thank Judah for his time and efforts at the club,” chester said. “He wanted first-team opportunities but sadly, we couldn’t guarantee them and after amicable discussions granted him release by mutual agreement.”
What’s next
Rimbu is now free to pursue other rugby league opportunities where he hopes to secure a more prominent role and consistent playing time.
