Salary and House Rent Allowance of Supreme Court Judges Increased
The federal government has announced a significant increase in the salaries and house rent allowance of Supreme Court judges.
The house rent allowance for Supreme Court judges has been increased from 68 thousand to 3 lakh 50 thousand rupees, while the judicial allowance has been increased from 3 lakh 42 thousand to 1 million 90 thousand rupees.
This decision was made after the approval of Interim President Yousaf Raza Gilani, following which the Ministry of Law and Justice issued a notification.
In a similar move last year, the federal government increased the salary of the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
An ordinance was announced by the Acting President at the time, Sadiq Sanjrani, which included a 20 percent increase in the salaries of Supreme Court judges.
According to the Ordinance, the salary of the Supreme Court Judge was increased by Rs.1 lakh 93 thousand 527, resulting in a new salary of Rs.11 lakh 61 thousand 163.
