Martial Courtet, born July 30, 1976, in Porrentruy, comes from a working-class background. His father, Alain Courtet, worked as an electrician before becoming a sales representative following an accident. His mother, Marie-Antoinette Vallat, is a related to politician François Lachat and worked as a concierge. Courtet is married to Maëlle Courtet-Willemin, an attorney, and is the father of two children. he received his maturity diploma in 1996.
