Justice for Our Fallen Angel: President Erdoğan Vows to Bring Perpetrators to Account
President Erdoğan’s Statements on Various Issues
We shared the joy of graduating lieutenants and their families by participating in our Military Academy’s graduation ceremonies. It was also meaningful that all of our school valedictorians were female lieutenants. We are always proud of our patriotic and well-educated young people. We stand by every step that strengthens the power of the Turkish Armed Forces.
We have taken very important steps in 22 years with the motto of a strong Türkiye, a strong army. We are one of the top three or four countries in the world in the field of UAV and SIHA production. We are at a different point in many areas than we were 22 years ago.
Investigations and Democratic Control Mechanisms
We conduct the necessary investigation in a multi-dimensional manner within the framework of democratic control mechanisms. We do not allow political calculations to be made through our army. The same sensitivity applies to Gazi Mustafa Kemal.
Jerusalem is Our Red Line
Last year, 17 million 370 thousand tourists visited Istanbul. Our target this year is 60 million tourists and 60 million dollars of tourism income. We believe we will achieve our 2024 goals in tourism.
We will focus more on the new and civil issue. A civil constitution is a necessity rather than a need. We do not find it right that the nation, which signed the epic July 15 national will, should be forced to adopt the constitution made by the conspirators.
We welcomed Egyptian President Sisi to our Social Complex on September 4. We took Türkiye-Egypt relations much further. We are in consultation with Egypt on regional issues, especially Gaza, the Eastern Mediterranean, and Africa. Like all regional countries, we must establish a line of unity against Israel.
We support the Egyptian authorities in their mediation efforts in Gaza. Israel is trying to expand its occupation and occupation policy to include the Masjid al-Aqsa. We say ’Jerusalem is our red line’ at every opportunity.
Accountability for the Life of Our Daughter Narin
We are among the countries that make the most extensive use of technological opportunities in education. As the first class bell rings today, I hope the academic year will benefit our students, our teachers, our parents, and our country.
We will definitely hold those who took the life of our tender daughter to account before justice. I will pursue the matter personally to ensure that those responsible are punished to the fullest extent possible.
Economic Growth and Stability
We do not follow the decoy agendas presented by the opposition in order to hide the ongoing struggle within itself. The regular agenda of all our Cabinet meetings is the economy.
We are working hard to eliminate the problems caused by high living costs. The fall in inflation, which started in June, continued in August. Annual inflation fell by 23.5 points in the last 3 months.
We reduced the fragility of the economy. Our risk premium fell from 700 basis points to 270 basis points. We follow the housing market closely. The MTP we started implementing last year was further strengthened.
We will achieve single-digit inflation by implementing monetary, fiscal, and income policies in harmony. All these gains will move our country from the upper-middle-income group to the upper-income group for the first time.
Last year, we grew by 5.1 percent and our national income exceeded 1 trillion dollars. We anticipate closing this year with growth of 3.5 percent.
Investments in Youth and Sports
Youth and Sports are among the areas in which we have made serious investments in 22 years. The number of sports facilities increased to 4 thousand 421. The number of licensed athletes increased to 16 million.
The number of medals we received in each sports branch reached 8 thousand 449. Student dormitories were the issue that most provoked the opposition. We are at the service of our students with our dormitories in 81 states and 266 areas.
