Investigation Underway for Homicide of Police Commander in Mexico City

Office of the Attorney General in Mexico City Investigates Man and Two Women for ‌Alleged Involvement

Mexico City, September 17 – The Office of the Attorney General in Mexico City (FGJ-CdMx) is investigating a man and two women for their alleged⁣ involvement in the homicide of⁤ David Azaid Hernández Ramírez, commander of the Citizen Security Secretariat (SSC) in Tlalpan.

“The ‍FGJ-CdMx is investigating a man and two women who were put at the disposal of an agent⁢ of ⁢the Public Ministry; him, for the possible commission of the ​crime of intentional homicide, and they,​ for their probable participation in the crime of resistance by individuals, resulting from a fight that took place in the neighborhood San Miguel Xicalco, Office ⁤of the Mayor of Tlalpan, where a police officer from the SSC deprived of life,”‌ explained the⁤ organization.

Elements of the Investigative Police (PDI) traveled to the scene of​ the events ⁣to look for witnesses and⁣ recover images from security cameras.⁣ Experts in mechanics, photography, and criminology belonging to⁢ the General Co-ordination of Forensic Investigation and Specialist Services were also present to strengthen the investigation portfolio.

Pablo Vázquez Camacho, ​the Secretary of‍ Citizen Security, confirmed the arrests and the death of the police ‌commander. “After a cowardly attack by armed⁣ civilians, the head of the Topilejo sector, Chief Inspector David Azaid Hernández Ramírez, died after ​being shot⁣ with a firearm while performing his duty in the area of​ ​​San Miguel Xicalco,” he explained.

According to initial reports, the victim, along with a group of police officers,‌ went to⁤ 5 de Febrero⁤ Street to respond to ​a report ⁢of ‌a fight between neighbors, who ‌were carrying firearms. Upon ‌arrival, they saw​ a resident without ‍vital signs.

“Intervening⁢ to make an ‌arrest, from home the citizens fired at least​ three shots with a shotgun against the uniformed officers, after which ⁣the Head of the Sector was injured, so paramedics from the ​Rescue and Emergency Medical Squad (ERUM) transferred him to‍ a nearby sports ​car where a ⁢Condor ​helicopter received‌ him​ and took him to⁣ a hospital⁣ where he unfortunately lost his life,” explained ⁤the SSC.

On the⁣ spot, the probable person responsible for the attack was arrested; however, neighbors and relatives tried to ⁣stop him from being transferred to an official vehicle, ⁣which led to ‍fights with the people, who threw stones⁢ and sticks at the police officers.

With ⁢the support of other work teams, two women who took‍ part⁢ in ⁢the attacks were arrested, ⁤so the three prisoners are transferred to the ⁤corresponding Public Ministry agent, who will define‌ their ⁤legal position and carry out investigations into the case.

“All of us who are part ‍of the SSC join in ‍the grief that ​his family and friends are experiencing, and⁤ we send him a hug of solidarity, as well as offering all our support on right now,” the body‍ expressed.

The Tlalpan Mayor’s Office also mourned the death on its official social networks.
