Police Investigation Leads to Breakthrough in Ceg Albarika Attack Case
A student in the 3rd grade at Ceg Albarika in Parakou was attacked on Monday, September 23, 2024, around 7:20 pm in the Ganon area, in the first district of Parakou. The learner was returning home with other students when he was attacked with a knife by an individual in a busy area known for acts of insecurity. The attacker attempted to steal the student’s mobile phone after stabbing him.
The police investigation led to the arrest of a suspect, who is reportedly a repeat offender. During questioning, the suspect admitted to his involvement in the attack but denied the presence of an accomplice, a motorcycle taxi driver who is currently being sought by the authorities.
A search of the suspect’s home revealed several SIM cards, a Zémidjan’s shirt with a fake number, and prison release certificates. The investigation is ongoing.
