Justin Timberlake has revealed he has been battling Lyme disease, a condition he described as “relentlessly debilitating, both mentally adn physically.” The “SexyBack” singer shared his diagnosis in a candid Instagram post, detailing how the illness affected his recent tour.
Timberlake, who typically guards his privacy, admitted he considered canceling his tour upon receiving the diagnosis. Though, he ultimately decided to continue performing, stating, “the joy that performing brings me far outweighs the fleeting stress my body was feeling. I’m so glad I kept going.”
A Tour Marked by Health Challenges
The Grammy-winning artist’s recent tour was punctuated by several postponements and cancellations due to various health issues,including bronchitis and laryngitis. Six of his US shows were rescheduled from October and November to February, and he ultimately canceled the final American leg of the tour in Ohio due to the flu.
Despite these setbacks, Timberlake expressed his deep appreciation for the experience. “I honestly don’t know what my future is onstage, but I’ll always cherish this run! And all of them before! It’s been the stuff of legend for me,” he wrote.

Lyme disease is transmitted through the bite of infected Ixodes ticks, commonly known as deer ticks. Symptoms can range from flu-like conditions to more severe neurological problems and joint pain.
