Turin, Italy – Juventus snatched a dramatic 2-2 draw against Lazio in a pulsating Serie A encounter at Allianz Stadium on Monday, February 9, 2026. The Bianconeri, trailing 2-0, mounted a spirited comeback fueled by goals from Weston McKennie and a last-gasp equalizer from Pierre Kalulu.

The match began with Juventus struggling to break down a resolute Lazio defense, which had recorded three clean sheets in their previous four away matches. Gleison Bremer had an early opportunity in the 16th minute, meeting a cross from Kalulu with a powerful header, but Lazio goalkeeper Ivan Provedel produced a brilliant save to tip the ball over the bar.

Despite Juventus’s early pressure, Lazio took the lead just before halftime. In stoppage time, Daniel Maldini fed Pedro, whose shot took a significant deflection off Bremer, wrong-footing the Juventus goalkeeper and finding the net. It was Pedro’s third goal in his last four games.

Lazio doubled their advantage just two minutes into the second half. Gustav Isaksen raced onto a long ball and lifted a composed finish over the Juventus goalkeeper, extending Lazio’s lead to 2-0.

Juventus responded with increased urgency. Kenan Yıldız almost pulled one back immediately with a curling shot, but Provedel was equal to it, diving to his left to make another crucial save. Provedel continued to frustrate the Juventus attack, denying Edon Zhegrova with another sprawling stop before Andrea Cambiaso kept the ball alive and crossed for McKennie to head home his fourth Serie A goal of the season in the 59th minute, igniting the comeback.

The game appeared to be heading for a Lazio victory, but Juventus continued to press for an equalizer. The breakthrough finally came in the 96th minute, deep into injury time. A lofted cross from Jeremie Boga found Kalulu, who rose highest to head the ball past Provedel, securing a dramatic point for Juventus.

The draw leaves both teams locked in a tight battle in the Serie A standings. While the result denies Lazio their first league double over Juventus since the 1942/43 season, it prevents them from gaining significant ground on the league leaders. Juventus, meanwhile, will be relieved to have salvaged a point after a difficult first half.

Juventus lined up with a 4-3-3 formation, featuring Di Gregorio in goal, a back four of Cambiaso, Kalulu, Bremer and Koopmeiners, with Cabal on the flank. Locatelli and Thuram formed the midfield partnership, supporting an attacking trio of McKennie, Yıldız, and David.

Lazio, under coach Sarri, opted for a similar setup, with Provedel in goal, a defense comprised of Marušić, Mario Gila, Provstgaard, and Nuno Tavares. Cataldi and Bašić anchored the midfield, supporting an attacking line of Taylor, Isaksen, Pedro, and Maldini.

The match was a thrilling tactical duel between the two Tuscan coaches, with both sides demonstrating quality and competitive spirit. Lazio’s inability to capitalize on their two-goal lead ultimately proved costly, as Juventus’s relentless pressure in the closing stages secured a deserved draw.

The late equalizer from Kalulu will undoubtedly be a significant boost for Juventus, while Lazio will be left to rue missed opportunities. The result highlights the unpredictable nature of Serie A and sets the stage for an exciting finish to the season.
