Just World Educational ‌Urges ‌UN Action on Gaza,Iran

Updated June 16,2025
‍

Just World Educational (JWE) on June 14 issued a “Call to Humanity,” appealing to global leaders to utilize the UN’s “Uniting for ⁤Peace” mechanism. This move seeks to override potential U.S. Security⁣ Council vetoes concerning ⁢both the ongoing⁤ conflict in Gaza and recent tensions between Israel and Iran.

The organization highlights what it describes as the U.S.’s ancient dominance in Middle East diplomacy, favoring Israel. JWE’s call draws parallels to the 1956 Suez Crisis, when U.S. President Dwight⁢ Eisenhower employed the “Uniting⁣ for Peace” resolution to circumvent vetoes from Britain and France. eisenhower ⁢also leveraged U.S. economic influence to push ‍for the withdrawal of british, French, and Israeli forces from occupied egyptian territory.

JWE suggests that nations such as⁤ China,⁢ members of the European Union, the BRICS nations, and ASEAN possess notable economic leverage. The organization urges these nations to recognize the threat ⁢posed by ⁤escalating violence and to employ nonviolent ⁢means, including economic power, to counter what‍ it⁤ views as Washington’s ⁢veto‍ power on Middle ‌Eastern issues.⁣ The goal is⁤ to restore the UN’s diplomatic leadership role as envisioned in its charter, especially ⁢regarding the Israel-Palestine issue and the israel-Iran‍ issue.

“[T]oday, China, the European Union, the BRICS nations, ASEAN, and many ‍other nations command considerable power ‍within ⁣the global economy…to nullify Washington’s veto on Middle Eastern issues and thereby to regain for the United Nations the degree of diplomatic leadership… that was promised to the ⁤peoples of the world in the UN Charter.”

Just World Educational also seeks collaboration from other antiwar and pro-rights organizations to amplify the campaign. Interested organizations can signal their support through ⁣an online form.

What’s next

JWE plans to ‍continue advocating for ⁢international cooperation and peaceful resolutions to the conflicts in Gaza ⁢and ⁤between Israel ‌and ⁤Iran,‌ urging global leaders to prioritize diplomatic solutions and human rights.
