Jang Tae-oh’s Achievement

On October 26, actor Jang Tae-oh won the ‘Best Foreign Actor Award’ in the foreign film category at the ‘1st AIFF Asia International Film Festival 2024’ awards ceremony held at the Fisherman’s Wharf Convention and Exhibition Center in Macau.

The Malaysian film ‘OPPA The White Horse Prince’, in which he starred, achieved double happiness by winning the “Best Picture” award in the overseas film category.

Attendees and Awardees

Famous Chinese actors Zhang Wu, Weixiang, Wang Zhi, Liu Longguang, Xu Junchong, Yu Yang, Zhou Haodong, Wang Jianxin, Li Liang, famous producer Wang Weicheng, and famous directors Zhang Lian, In Dawei, and Hui Huanzhang received the Golden Carriage Award.

Director Lee Yuning, Golden Carriage Award-winning actor Liu Yong, Hong Kong famous actor Cheung Tat-ming, Hong Kong Asian Television senior advisor Wang Chin-ye, Hong Kong famous directors Lee Jik and Lau Quin-wai, and famous Korean actress Clara attended and graced the event.

About 540 special guests, including Macau’s cultural and artistic elites such as Leung Chun-shu, Xiao Wu, international photographer Zhao Il, and child star public relations ambassador Leung Zhi-wei, attended and attracted attention.

According to AIFF Asian International Film Festival Organizing Committee Secretary General Meng Kaider, the ‘1st AIFF Asian International Film Festival’ features a total of 619 films from 23 countries and regions in 5 categories.

Other Awardees

Actors Jang Woo and Wang Zhi won the ‘Best Actor’ and ‘Best Actress’ awards at the AIFF Golden Ibis Awards.

Actress Clara won the AIFF Golden Ibis Award for ‘Best Actress in Asian Film’ for a Chinese film and the AIFF Golden Ibis Award for ‘Asian Film Industry’ for a Chinese film.

Jang Tae-oh’s Acceptance Speech

Actor Jang Tae-oh said, “I am very grateful for the opportunity to receive the award at such an honorable event where respected actors representing East Asia, including the Greater China region, have gathered in one place. “I will repay you with better works in the future,” he said in his acceptance speech.

Jang Tae-oh’s Future Plans

Actor Jang Tae-oh plans to expand his acting spectrum by confirming appearances in global OTT original works, Philippine films, Chinese films, etc.
