Kamala Harris Secures Music Rights Amid Trump Lawsuit Drama

Kamala Harris Secures Music Rights Amid Trump Lawsuit Drama

November 13, 2024 Catherine Williams - Chief Editor Entertainment

Kamala Harris received permission to use music from various artists during her campaign. This news comes as Donald Trump faces legal threats over unauthorized music use.

Two months ago, The White Stripes sued Trump for using their song “Seven Nation Army.” The band claimed their copyright was infringed when Trump’s campaign posted a video of him boarding a plane, featuring their song. The band expressed their disapproval of Trump and his policies, highlighting their ongoing opposition to him.

Initially, Jack White threatened legal action after the campaign’s use of the song in a video. This led to a formal lawsuit, where The White Stripes stated their music was used without permission and they opposed Trump’s actions.

In a recent turn, the band chose to drop the lawsuit but did not provide further comments. They had previously expressed their disgust with Trump’s association through music, confirming their long-standing opposition to him.

In contrast, Harris can freely utilize music from various artists, supporting her campaign while Trump navigates legal challenges related to his campaign’s music usage.
