KANSAS CITY, Kan. — Detectives with the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department are investigating a shooting that resulted in the death of a 17-year-old boy on Tuesday afternoon.
Police were dispatched to the 7400 block of Armstrong Avenue at approximately 2:43 p.m. On reports of a shooting, according to a department media release. First responders arrived to find the teenager suffering from apparent gunshot wounds outside an apartment complex.
The victim was transported to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities have not yet released the boy’s name. He was a student at Washington High School in the Kansas City, Kansas Public Schools.
As of Wednesday, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and police have not released any information regarding potential suspects. The investigation is ongoing.
