Table of Contents
Ahead of the annual Kanwar Yatra, Noida Traffic Police have issued a comprehensive advisory outlining traffic restrictions and diversions effective from 10:00 PM on July 11th and continuing until July 25th. These measures are designed to facilitate the safe passage of Kanwar pilgrims traveling to destinations including Bulandshahr,Hapur,Moradabad, and other areas in western Uttar Pradesh.
Kanwar Yatra Route and Impacted Areas
Kanwar pilgrims entering Noida will do so primarily through mayur Vihar, with exits planned via kalindi Kunj. The pilgrimage route will traverse approximately four kilometers within the city, passing near the Shani Temple and the okhla Bird Sanctuary. Motorists should anticipate notable traffic adjustments in these areas during the specified period.
Traffic Diversions for Goods Carriers
to minimize congestion, goods carriers will face diversions onto the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and the Eastern Peripheral Expressway for traffic heading towards Delhi and Haryana. A complete restriction on goods carriers will be enforced on major routes including the Elevated Road, DND Flyway, and Kalindi Kunj.
Complete Road Closures
Vehicular movement will be entirely prohibited from the Chilla red light to the Okhla Bird Sanctuary via the Shani Temple. This closure is a key component of prioritizing pilgrim safety and managing traffic flow.
Lane Restrictions and Pilgrim Priority
On other routes, one lane will be allocated for light vehicular traffic, while the adjacent lane will be exclusively reserved for Kanwariyas (pilgrims). senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Vipin Tada has confirmed that these restrictions are in place across key highways and intercity routes connecting Delhi, Uttarakhand, and western UP districts to prevent congestion.
Preparations for the Yatra
authorities have been actively preparing for the influx of pilgrims. Officials have requested all concerned departments to ensure the route is well-maintained and clean. Recent meetings have been held with representatives from the power, health, and Noida authorities, as well as DJ operators and event organizers, to coordinate efforts and ensure a smooth and safe pilgrimage.
