Kanye West Donda Academy Lawsuit Deposition
FINAL OUTPUT:
Kanye West Ordered to Testify in Donda Academy Lawsuit
A Los angeles judge has mandated that Kanye West appear for a deposition related to a lawsuit filed by a former employee of his Donda Academy, marking a critical advancement in the ongoing legal battle.
Lawsuit Alleges Opposed work Environment
Trevor Phillips initiated legal action in April 2024, alleging that West fostered a hostile work environment at the school. Phillips claims he witnessed West making antisemitic remarks to staff, discussing plans to shave students’ heads, and proposing the construction of a jail on the premises.
The lawsuit further asserts that West regularly subjected Black employees, including phillips, to verbal abuse and bullying. Phillips is seeking financial compensation for the alleged harassment, discrimination, and creation of a toxic workplace.
Court Compels WestS Testimony
despite multiple attempts by Phillips’ legal team to schedule a deposition, West had previously failed to appear. Court documents indicate that the judge’s order aims to ensure West provides direct testimony under oath, wiht a 30-day deadline imposed for compliance.
As of September 10, 2025, West’s attorney, Eduardo Martorell, has not commented on the court’s decision. The deposition presents a significant prospect for Phillips’ legal team to directly question West about the allegations raised in the lawsuit.
