Kaohsiung MRT Back on Track: Power Supply Issue Resolved, All Lines Running Smoothly

Kaohsiung MRT Operations Disrupted Due to Power Anomaly
Kaohsiung MRT operations from R17 Xiyun Station to RK1 Okayama Station were disrupted due to a power anomaly this morning. Gao Jie said that during the maintenance period, the collector boots of 8 trains were affected and arrangements are being made to gradually bring them back to the factory for maintenance with a view to restoring the normal operation of the entire line tonight.
Kaohsiung MRT Corporation reported that at 8:59 a.m., a power anomaly occurred on three tracks from Kaohsiung MRT R17 Shiyun Station to R21 Metropolitan Park Station. Fortunately, the three affected train passengers in this section are safe.
Gaoji Company started partial operation from R3 Xiaogang Station to R17 Shiyun Station and R21 Metropolitan Park Station to RK1 Okayama Station at 9:13 am. Emergency personnel were dispatched to the scene for emergency repairs, and then operations from the R17 Xiyun Station to the R22 Qingpu Station were disrupted at approximately 10:25.
However, at approximately 11:6 p.m., partial operations were maintained from R3 Xiaogang Station to R17 World Games Station. Operations were interrupted for 6 to 8 minutes from R17 World Games Station to RK1 Okayama Station. Gaoji Company buses will be used instead, and passengers in a hurry are urged to use other means of transportation.
Gaojie maintenance personnel conducted a walk-through inspection on the section from station R17 to RK1. At about 3:00 p.m., they discovered that the third rail fixing part of the downhill section north of station R24 had fallen and had marks of impact with the collector boots of the train, resulting in breakage of the collector boots of the train and damage to the third rail caused power abnormalities on the third rail in some sections, causing the section to suspend operations.
The Gaoji company said that during the maintenance, 8 trains of power-collecting shoes were suspended at the station, which they are arranging to gradually return to the factory for maintenance to resume normal operations.
Regarding the shuttle bus, the Gaoji Company reported that after the operation was interrupted at 10:25 a.m., it contacted 4 passenger transport operators, 2 of which were unable to support, and assisted in the emergency dispatch of 2 vehicles. The dedicated bus of drivers had not yet arrived, and Gaoji Company issued bus vouchers on an urgent basis to transfer to ordinary buses.
At approximately 11:56 p.m., both Heip Hing Passenger Transport and Kaohsiung Passenger Transport sent vehicles to the scene to assist with the connection. Subsequently, with the assistance of the Municipal Transportation Bureau, the number of shuttle buses was increased to 9. Gaoji Company also clarified that Gaoji Company has no assumption that this accident is related to the construction of sound insulation wall.
