Alexandria to Host Fifth Session of Arab Theater Festival
The Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts of Alexandria is set to organize the Arab Theater Festival in its fifth session, “The Course of the Artist Karim Abdel Aziz”. The festival will be held under the patronage of Dr. Gada Jabbara, President of the Academy of Arts, and under the supervision of Dr. Ahmed Abdel Aziz, Vice-Dean of the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, and artist Mohammad Esmat, director of the festival.
The festival is scheduled to take place from October 18 to 27, and will feature a range of theatrical performances, competitions, and ceremonies. The event aims to promote and celebrate the art of theater in the Arab world, and to provide a platform for artists to showcase their talents.
Karim Abdel Aziz Expresses Gratitude and Joy
Artist Karim Abdel Aziz sent a video message to the officials of the fifth session of the Arab Theater Festival, expressing his gratitude and joy at being honored by the festival. He stated that he was unable to describe the extent of his joy, especially since the honor comes from a place that is dear to his heart, the Higher Institute of Cinema, from which he graduated.
Abdel Aziz emphasized the importance of art in bringing people together, and expressed his appreciation for the festival’s efforts in promoting and celebrating the art of theater. He also thanked his teachers and colleagues for their support and encouragement.
Festival Director Mohammad Esmat on the Significance of the Event
Mohammad Esmat, director of the Arab Theater Festival, expressed his great joy at Karim Abdel Aziz’s message, which he described as a strong motivation to continue working with all festival creators. Esmat emphasized the importance of presenting a course worthy of the stars of Egypt and the Arab world, and stated that the festival will include a range of performances, competitions, and ceremonies.
Festival Program and Highlights
Tamer Taha, director of the festival’s media center, explained that this year’s festival will include 7 theatrical performances, the fifth edition of the competition for prizes, and the opening and closing stages. The ceremony of the festival will be held at the Egyptian Opera House, and on the sidelines of the festival, several artists will be honored for their outstanding contribution to the world of theater and art.
The festival will also feature many surprise appearances, which will be announced periodically during the festival program. The names of the jury committee of the festival will be announced later.
