Karim Benzema responds to criticism and explains the truth about his interference in the deal

Saudi Al-Ittihad star Frenchman Karim Benzema has explained the club’s problems and reasons for failure after his side’s match against Al-Taoun yesterday, Thursday, in the second round of the Roshan League.

Benzema scored a goal that led Al-Ittihad to a hard-fought 2-1 win over its visitors Al-Tawoun, yesterday evening, Thursday, at the end of the second round of the Saudi League, after the team was late.

This is the French striker’s first goal in the Saudi league since last November.

Speaking on the “Action with Walid” program after the match, Benzema said: “It was a strong match, so we felt good on the pitch, good thing for everyone.”

On the Saudi league title he said: “We will see what happens as we are training and ready to fight when we meet Al Hilal and Al Nasr.”

Dean will be looking to make up for last season’s failure, which did not see him win any titles.

Benzema was asked why he was blamed for every team’s defeat, and he replied: “It’s because of my name, I’m from Real Madrid, so I have to be the best player in the world, and that’s normal, no problem.”

If he feels pressured by “The Dean’s” experience, “I can’t play football. What are you angry about?

Regarding the news that Benzema had chosen the coach and the team deal, the 36-year-old striker responded: “No, I’m here to help Al-Ittihad, and I didn’t choose anyone. I want the team to win everything.”

According to press reports, Benzema interfered with the coach’s file, as he refused to sign Italian Stefano Pioli and insisted on compatriot Laurent Blanc, prompting former club president Lue Nazar to resign.

The report also states that Benzema requested the inclusion of Housame Ouar and Moussa Diaby.
