Karissa Rivera, previously known as Elektra Lopez in WWE, is charting a new course after her unexpected release from the company on Feb.10. Rivera had been managing Ghost Legacy alongside Santos Escobar, Angel, and Berto.
Speaking on the Fan’s View podcast, Rivera revealed her surprise at WWE’s decision. She had appeared on television just days before her release.
Rivera said she was looking forward to new opportunities. She had been pitching ideas to transition from managing to more in-ring action, emphasizing her wrestling background.
Rivera felt she didn’t get a fair chance to showcase her wrestling skills. “I don’t mind managing, but I want to be able to do both,” Rivera said. “When I tried out, I tried out as a wrestler, not as a manager.”
She recalled the day of her release, noting the uncertainty and lack of explanation. “People were getting released while we were at work,” Rivera said. “I got home, and at 2:30 in the afternoon, I got a call, and they told me the news. No reason given. Nothing.”
