Kate French Targets Paris Olympics After Hiatus

Kate French, the reigning Olympic champion in modern pentathlon, is back in training with her sights set on the Paris Olympics.The Wiltshire-based athlete, originally from Kent, has been involved in the sport since 2007, when she joined the British Pathway program.
French’s career highlights include a junior world title in 2010 and a senior world gold medal in 2013 at an event in Taiwan.At the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, she placed fifth before securing the gold medal in Tokyo five years later with a record-breaking performance.
After her victory in 2021, French took a break, competing sparingly in 2022 and then stepping back again in 2023. She saeid she didn’t want to miss the possibility to try for the Paris Games.
