Kate’s Heartwarming Christmas Message: Love & Kindness Shine at Annual Carol Service | UK News
The Princess of Wales has shared her first Christmas message through a letter ahead of her annual carol service at Westminster Abbey. In this letter, she acknowledges her challenging year and highlights the importance of supporting those in need.
In her message, the Princess expresses gratitude to those who offer comfort and hope. She describes Christmas as a time for celebration and reflection. She emphasizes the values of love, kindness, and forgiveness, which embody the Christmas spirit. She connects the Christmas story to understanding and empathizing with others’ experiences.
This is the fourth year the Princess has hosted the “Together at Christmas” carol service. The theme for this year’s event is “how much we need each other in difficult times.” This comes after the Princess completed her chemotherapy treatment and Prince William referred to the past year as “brutal” due to health challenges faced by both his wife and father.
The letter strongly conveys a message of love, echoing a sentiment she expressed earlier this year: “Love is the light that can shine bright, even in our darkest times.”
Kensington Palace has revealed details about the service. Other members of the Royal Family will attend, and Prince William will deliver readings. Special candles will be lit by Lindsey Burrow, wife of rugby league player Rob Burrow, and Sir Chris Hoy, both of whom have faced serious health issues this year.
The abbey will feature sustainable decorations, reflecting the Princess’s advocacy for nature as a source of healing. The service will be recorded on Friday and aired on Christmas Eve.
