Katy Perry Receives the Video Vanguard Award at the 2024 MTV VMAs

Katy Perry was honored with the Video Vanguard Award, a lifetime achievement award, at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) held at the UBS Arena in Long Island, New York on September 11. Her fiancé Orlando Bloom, who appeared as a presenter, introduced her with affectionate words, and the two shared a passionate kiss on stage.

Orlando Bloom’s heartfelt introduction highlighted Katy Perry’s impact on the music industry and her fans. “You all fell in love with Katy Perry. I fell in love with Katheryn Hudson,” he said. “You know her as a global superstar who brings love, light and unique humor through her music and music videos. I know her as a mother and partner who brings that same love and joy to her family.”

He continued, “Her music and incredible world have brought joy and laughter at a time when we need it most, and inspired generations around the world. She loves with all her heart and with an irresistible force that I feel in every way – in our home, in the passion she shows in her work, but especially with her fans.
