Keefe D Diddy 2Pac Bounty
Tupac murder mystery: Diddy’s Name Resurfaces as Keefe D Trial Looms
Las Vegas, NV – Nearly three decades after the drive-by shooting that claimed the life of Tupac Shakur, Sean “Diddy” Combs finds himself once again embroiled in the swirling allegations surrounding the unsolved murder. As Duane “Keefe D” Davis, an admitted former leader of the South Side Compton Crips, prepares to stand trial, old police interviews have resurfaced, reigniting the controversy.
A 2025 DEA document obtained by USA Today reveals that statements Davis made in 2008 and 2009 are back in the spotlight. In those interviews, Davis claimed that Combs offered a staggering $1 million bounty for the heads of Tupac Shakur and Death Row Records founder Marion “Suge” Knight. According to Davis, Combs allegedly expressed his desire to see the two men harmed, stating he “woudl give anything for those dudes’ heads.” Davis maintains, though, that the bounty was never paid.
While Combs has never been officially named a suspect or charged in connection with Shakur’s death by Las Vegas authorities, the rumors have dogged him for years. Gene Deal,a former security guard for Combs’ Bad Boy Entertainment, has repeatedly suggested that Eric “Von Zip” Martin may have played a role in facilitating the alleged transaction, urging investigators to follow the money.
Combs has consistently and vehemently denied any involvement in the murder of Tupac Shakur. Adding another layer to the complex narrative, Tupac’s brother, Mopreme Shakur, has publicly stated that Combs personally contacted him in the 2000s to deny any connection to the crime.
As Keefe D’s trial approaches, the reemergence of these allegations ensures that the shadow of Tupac’s unsolved murder will continue to loom large over the hip-hop community and beyond. The trial promises to be a focal point for those seeking answers in this enduring mystery.
