ATLANTA – Keira Kemmerley, a first-year midfielder from Northwestern University, has been named to the U.S. Under-19 Women’s National Team roster for an upcoming training camp and a series of friendly matches in Portugal. The team will compete against Czechia, Wales and Portugal over a two-week period outside of Porto.
The selection marks a significant achievement for Kemmerley, who enjoyed a standout rookie season in Evanston. She recorded one goal and three assists, earning her a place on the Big Ten All-Freshman Team. Her three assists were the most by a Northwestern first-year player since Caterina Regazzoni also tallied three in 2022. Kemmerley is the first Wildcat to receive All-Freshman Team honors since Megan Norkett in 2023.
All 20 players named to the U.S. U-19 roster are eligible for selection to the 2026 FIFA Women’s U-20 World Cup, which will be held in Poland next fall.

The United States U-19 women’s national soccer team operates under the auspices of U.S. Soccer, with a primary focus on developing players for the senior women’s national team and bridging the gap between the U-17 and U-20 levels. The team was initially established in 2001 when the age limit was changed from U-18 to U-19 in preparation for the inaugural FIFA U-19 Women’s World Championship. The U.S. Team won that first championship in 2002, defeating Canada in the final.
Berwyn, Pennsylvania native Keira Kemmerley’s inclusion on the team represents a significant step in her young career, offering valuable international experience as she continues to develop as a player.
