Get ready for a laugh-out-loud Labor Day weekend! TriStar Pictures has announced that the highly anticipated comedy “One of Them Days,” starring Keke Palmer and SZA, will now hit theaters on September 1st, taking advantage of the four-day holiday weekend.
The film, produced by Issa Rae’s Hoorae, follows best friends and roommates Dreux (Palmer) and Alyssa (SZA) as they face a hilarious crisis. When they discover Alyssa’s boyfriend has blown their rent money, the duo embarks on a wild, comedic race against the clock to avoid eviction and save their friendship.”One of Them Days” boasts a stellar supporting cast,including Lil Rel Howery,Janelle James,Keyla Monterroso Mejia,Maude Apatow,Katt Williams,Joshua Neal,Aziza Scott,Patrick Cage,Dewayne perkins,Amin Joseph,Gabrielle Dennis,and DomiNque Perry.
This marks SZA’s acting debut, following her memorable appearance alongside Palmer on “Saturday Night Live” in December 2022, where Palmer hosted and SZA served as the musical guest.
“One of Them Days” is produced by Hoorae’s Rae and Sara diya Rastogi, ColorCreative’s Deniese Davis, and macro Film Studios’ Charles D. King, James Lopez, and Poppy Hanks.Syreeta Singleton, who penned the screenplay, is also co-producing. Palmer will executive produce for her Big Boss banner, alongside Sharon Palmer. Macro Film Studios is co-financing the project.
