Actress Keke Palmer recently shared the story behind her son, leodis’ name. Palmer, known for her diverse role in film and television, revealed that her former boyfriend, Darius Jackson, actually chose the name. She recounted the story on Scott Evans’ Webby award-winning series, House Guest, on June 7.
Palmer explained that Jackson wanted to combine their first names, Darius and Lauren, to create their son’s name. “Darius actually made his name. He wanted both our names, which is so crazy,” she said. “My parents did the same thing….that was him trying to put (like) Darius and Lauren like Leodis…It was too much, but I said, ‘hey, let’s do it.’ It was adorable. I was pregnant, ya know, so anything went.”
Palmer also expressed her fondness for her son’s “old name,” envisioning him as similar to Michael evans from the television show Good Times.
