Kelci-Rose Bowers has had her player contract terminated by Hashtag United Women by mutual consent just two months after joining the Essex-based club. The model and influencer arrived at the Women’s National League Premier Division side this summer following a relocation from Bournemouth, but the short-lived stint ended after she failed to make an impact on the pitch.
A Mutual Exit From the Premier Division Struggles
Hashtag United Women confirmed the departure in an official club statement, noting that the move simply did not work out as planned. The club agreed to her transfer to another FAWNL club following reports that she struggled to secure a foothold with the struggling Essex-based side.
Bowers Won Multiple Titles During Her Bournemouth Tenure
Bowers originally moved to Hashtag United in June after leaving Bournemouth. Her departure from the south coast coincided with Marcos Senesi—the 29-year-old snapped up by Tottenham after his deal with the Cherries expired. During her accomplished tenure with Bournemouth, Bowers made 70 appearances and scored 11 goals. She helped the team secure the FA Women’s National League Division One South West title, alongside the National League Plate and the National League Cup. Her extensive football background also includes coming through the youth ranks at Chelsea and Southampton, attending Louisiana State University, and playing for Portsmouth.
Bowers Joins a New FAWNL Club
Beyond her club career, Bowers previously drew intense media attention in the stands while cheering for her partner’s Argentina squad as Lionel Messi and teammates eliminated England during a World Cup semi-final. With her exit from Hashtag United finalized, the influencer is now preparing to take her career in a new direction as she transitions directly to a new FAWNL club.
