A trial has been scheduled for May 11, 2026, for Kelvin Evans, a man accused of stealing hard drives containing unreleased music and tour planning materials belonging to Beyoncé.
Evans faces a felony charge of entering a motor vehicle with the intent to commit theft, as well as a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespassing. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Details of the Atlanta Theft
The incident occurred in July 2025 in Atlanta, Georgia, during a stop on the Cowboy Carter tour. According to reporting from Rolling Stone, choreographer Christopher Grant and dancer Diandre Blue filed a police report after discovering that the trunk window of their rental car had been damaged and two suitcases were missing.

Legal Timeline and Proceedings
Following the July 2025 report, an arrest warrant was issued for a suspect approximately one week later. Evans was arrested in August 2025 and was officially named as the suspect in September 2025.
In October 2025, Evans was released on a $20,000 bond. While the Atlanta Police Department reported that the stolen items had not been recovered at the time of the arrest, the legal process has continued toward a trial date.
Reporting indicates that Evans was offered a plea deal in April 2026, though he ultimately proceeded toward trial after pleading not guilty.
