Hailie Deegan, a ⁤rising‌ star in American motorsports,‌ is⁢ making ‍a bold move. The 22-year-old driver, known for her time‍ in NASCAR’s K&N ‍Pro and Truck Series, ‌will be racing in ⁣the Indy NXT series⁤ for the 2025 season with HMD Motorsports. this transition has sparked‌ discussions ⁤about ‌deegan’s potential and ⁤the ⁢readiness of NASCAR‌ for a ⁣female champion.

Deegan’s father, motocross legend Brian Deegan, recently made headlines ⁣with‌ a controversial ‌statement, claiming that NASCAR isn’t ready for a triumphant female driver. This ignited a debate among racing veterans, with NASCAR legends Kenny Wallace and Ken Schrader weighing‍ in on the topic.

In a recent episode of Wallace’s‌ YouTube series⁢ “Herm & Schrader,” wallace posed the question to Schrader: “Brian Deegan ‌said, I don’t ‍think NASCAR is ready for a⁣ successful girl race car driver. What do you think?”

Schrader, a seasoned NASCAR ‌veteran, offered a different outlook. “Well, I ⁣don’t believe that,” he stated. “I mean, I‌ think about it ⁣some, but ‍I don’t.NASCAR’s⁤ ready for ⁤whoever ⁢the next successful driver is. I gotta believe that there’s nothing that⁣ Daytona would like‌ better than for a ⁤female, to be climbing out with⁣ some consistency of these vehicles in Victory Lane. Who wouldn’t want⁢ that?”

Schrader acknowledged‍ the‍ statistical challenges faced by female drivers,⁤ but emphasized‌ that success ultimately comes down to talent and opportunity. “There’s ‍thousands of ⁣good‍ racers ⁣throughout the country,” he explained. “What⁤ percentage of them are even going to get to run at cup or Xfinity or whatever, our truck. And⁢ then what ⁤percentage of them are actually going to get to frequent Victory Lane? So now we take ⁢all those thousands of drivers, and then we take‍ just ‍the female ⁢drivers. Well the chances are, just you know, statistically it’s⁣ just not near the chance. But doesn’t mean they can’t.”

Deegan’s move to Indy NXT presents⁣ a fresh‍ start and a chance to prove herself on a new stage. While the debate about⁣ NASCAR’s readiness for a ⁣female champion continues, Deegan’s talent and determination are undeniable. Tiny‍ Home Trend Takes root in Suburban⁤ Backyards

Across the U.S., homeowners are embracing a downsized lifestyle, adding tiny homes to their properties for extra space, rental income, or a⁤ unique living experience.

The American dream of⁢ homeownership is⁣ evolving. While sprawling⁢ McMansions once reigned supreme, a new trend is ⁤taking root: tiny⁣ homes. these compact dwellings, typically under‌ 400 square feet, are popping up in suburban backyards across the country, offering ⁢a⁣ range of ‍benefits for ⁢homeowners.

For some,it’s about creating additional living space for aging ‍parents or‌ returning adult children.”My mother wanted⁢ to be closer⁤ to us, but didn’t want to give up‍ her independence,” says Sarah miller, a ⁤homeowner in Denver, Colorado. ⁣”The tiny home was the perfect solution. It gave ⁢her a private space ⁢while still being part of the family.”

Others see tiny homes as a way to⁢ generate passive income.Renting⁤ out a tiny⁤ home on platforms like Airbnb can provide a steady stream of revenue, helping homeowners offset mortgage payments or fund other financial goals.

But the appeal of tiny living extends‌ beyond⁣ practicality. many⁢ are‍ drawn⁣ to the⁤ minimalist lifestyle⁢ that comes with downsizing. “It forced us to declutter and focus on ⁣what truly matters,”‌ says John Davis, ‍who built a tiny home in his backyard in Austin, Texas.”We’re happier with less stuff and more experiences.”

The tiny home movement is ‍also gaining traction as ‌a lasting housing ⁤solution. ‌With their smaller footprint and energy-efficient designs, tiny homes can significantly reduce environmental impact.

While zoning regulations and building codes can pose challenges, the growing popularity of tiny homes is prompting many⁣ municipalities ‌to adapt. Some ⁢cities are ⁣even offering incentives for homeowners to ⁤build accessory dwelling units (ADUs), which often include tiny homes.

As the‍ tiny home trend continues to gain momentum,it’s clear‍ that‌ the American dream is taking ‌on new and exciting forms.

Hailie Deegan: thanks for having me.

ND3: Your move to Indy NXT ‌has been making waves in the motorsport world. What prompted this decision to switch from NASCAR to ⁣open-wheel‌ racing?

HD: It was‍ a‍ tough decision, for sure. I learned so much in NASCAR, but I ⁤was ready for a‌ new challenge. Open-wheel racing has always fascinated me, ⁣and the possibility with HMD Motorsports felt like the perfect next step.

ND3: Your father, Brian Deegan, recently sparked ⁢debate with comments suggesting NASCAR isn’t ready for a female champion. What are⁣ your thoughts⁢ on that statement?

HD: I understand where my Dad is coming from. But I believe that’s changing! There are so ⁢many talented female racers coming up, and I think it’s just ‍a matter of time before we see more women competing at the highest levels.

ND3: NASCAR legends Kenny Wallace ‌and Ken⁢ Schrader offered differing opinions on ⁤the topic ⁤during a recent episode of “herm & Schrader.” Schrader argued NASCAR would be thrilled ‍to see a female driver in⁣ Victory Lane consistently. Do you‍ agree?

HD: Absolutely. I think ‍any driver, irrespective of gender, who can consistently win races‍ and compete at ⁢the highest level would be welcomed with open arms by NASCAR fans and the⁤ entire racing community.

ND3: How have your initial experiences been‌ in the Indy NXT car? It’s a significantly different machine compared to the NASCAR trucks and cars you’re used to.

HD: It’s definitely a different beast. The downforce is incredible,‌ and the cars⁤ handle completely differently. It’s been a steep learning curve, ‌but I’m enjoying‍ the challenge. Every lap I learn something new, and I’m excited to see how much I can improve.

ND3: What are your goals for⁤ your ‌rookie season in Indy ‌NXT?

ND3: What message would⁣ you give‌ to young girls and women ⁤who aspire to ⁢be race car drivers?

HD: Don’t let anyone⁤ tell you that you can’t do something because you’re a girl. Work hard, believe ⁣in⁤ yourself, and never give ⁣up on your dreams.
