Daniel Bell-Drummond, reflecting on the win, emphasized the challenge of playing Somerset. He noted that securing a win there makes a “big statement” about Kent’s potential in the Vitality Blast competition.
Bell-Drummond,a Kent mainstay throughout his career, has local ties to Somerset, having attended Millfield School on a scholarship. He expressed pride in performing well in front of friends and former teachers.
Regarding his performance, Bell-Drummond said, “I was a bit slow to start but once I got going, everything I was hitting was finding gaps, going for four or six, so it was just one of those days.”
Bell-Drummond added,”It was a really proud day for me because I went to school down the road and I’ve got a lot of friends there who are basically my family. It was great having them all down [to watch]. It’s almost my second home so I was really proud to win in front of old friends and teachers.”
