ATHENS, Ga. – The University of Kentucky women’s tennis team (9-11, 1-10 SEC) concluded its regular season with a 4-1 loss to the No. 1 University of Georgia Bulldogs (14-4, 9-3 SEC) on Thursday at the Dan Magill Tennis Complex, as reported by both UK Athletics and georgiadogs.com.

Georgia secured the doubles point with victories on courts one and two. Anastasiia Lopata and Patricija Paukstyte fell 6-2 to Asuncion Jadue and Reese Sager, while Deniz Dilek and Aysegul Mert were defeated 6-2 by Donna Le Roux and Julia Zhu. The Bulldogs carried this momentum into singles play.

Aysegul Mert secured a 6-2, 6-2 win over Julia Zhu on court two, giving Georgia an early lead in singles. Anastasiia Lopata followed with a 6-1, 6-3 victory over Zoe Hammond on court six. Anastasiia Gureva clinched the match for Georgia with a 6-2, 7-5 win on court four.

Donna Le Roux of Kentucky managed to secure a point for the Wildcats, defeating Sofia Rojas 6-1, 6-4 on court six. However, it wasn’t enough to overcome Georgia’s strong performance. The Bulldogs now lead the all-time series against Kentucky 44-10.

The order of finish was doubles (courts 1 & 2), followed by singles (courts 2, 6, 1, and 4). Several singles matches went unfinished, including Deniz Dilek vs. Reese Sager (6-2, 4-6, 3-0 unfinished) and Patricija Paukstyte vs. Asuncion Jadue (6-3, 4-6, unfinished).
