Kerala Cricket League Final: Kollam Sailors to Face Calicut Globestars
Thiruvananthapuram: The final match of the first Kerala Cricket League is set to take place today, with Kollam Sailors facing off against Calicut Globestars at Maes Glas Stadium, Thiruvananthapuram.
Calicut Globestars secured their spot in the final by defeating Trivandrum Royals in the first semi-final. After losing the toss, Calicut scored 173 runs for the loss of five wickets in 20 overs. In response, Trivandrum Royals were restricted to 155 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Rohan Kunnummal and Akhil Scaria shone in the Calicut lineup with impressive half-centuries. Akhil also excelled in bowling, taking four wickets. Salman Nisar’s 23 runs off 16 balls also contributed to Calicut’s success.
Kollam Sailors won their ticket to the final by defeating Thrissur Titans in the second semi-final. Batting first, Kollam Sailors scored 211 runs. Chasing a massive target, Thrissur Titans put up a good fight but managed to score 194 runs. Sachin Baby (83) and Abhishek Nair (103) were the standout performers for Kollam.
