Jasveen Sangha, the woman identified by prosecutors as the Ketamine Queen
of North Hollywood, has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for her role in the 2023 overdose death of Friends
actor Matthew Perry.
The sentencing took place on April 8, 2026, during a hearing at the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. U.S. District Judge Sherilyn Garnett handed down the prison term along with three years of supervised release.
The 15-year sentence matches the 180-month term requested by federal prosecutors in a March 25, 2026, court filing. This penalty is the most severe issued to date among the five defendants charged in connection with the actor’s death.
Felony Charges and Guilty Plea
Sangha previously pleaded guilty to five federal felony charges related to the distribution of the drug that led to Perry’s overdose. These charges included:
- Three counts of distribution of ketamine
- One count of distribution of ketamine resulting in death or serious bodily injury
- One count of maintaining a drug-involved premises
Sangha has been in federal custody since her arrest in August 2024. The criminal investigation into the death of the 54-year-old actor began after he was found dead in a jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home in October 2023.
Perry was widely recognized for his role as Chandler Bing on the NBC sitcom Friends
and had spent decades battling substance abuse prior to his death.
Prosecution Allegations of Callousness
During the legal proceedings, federal prosecutors detailed how Sangha operated her drug trafficking business. They argued that she specifically marketed herself as an exclusive dealer who catered to high-profile Hollywood clientele to grow her profits.

In a 24-page sentencing memorandum, U.S. Attorneys for the Central District of California described Sangha as a drug dealer who sold drugs that hurt people
.
Sangha’s actions show a cold callousness and disregard for life. She chose profits over people, and her actions have caused immense pain to the victims’ families and loved ones.
U.S. Attorneys for the Central District of California
Prosecutors further alleged that Sangha continued to sell drugs even after she became aware that the substances she provided had caused the death of Matthew Perry.
Courtroom Reactions
During the April 8, 2026, hearing, Sangha addressed the court to express remorse for her actions. She lamented her poor choices
and the horrible decisions that ultimately proved tragic
.
Sangha told the court that she prays for forgiveness every day and thanked the judge for providing her with the harshest reality check
of her life, stating, Thank you for taking me out of the equation
.
Keith Morrison, a Dateline
correspondent and the stepfather of Matthew Perry, also spoke during the proceedings. Morrison praised Judge Garnett for delivering a highly reasoned sentence
.
While acknowledging the grief of the family, Morrison noted that he felt badly for the perpetrator as well, concluding that nobody won today
