Kevin Durant to Consult on Paris Saint-Germain Basketball Plans
NBA star Kevin Durant is partnering with Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) to advise on potential basketball expansion plans. This move aligns with the NBA’s growing interest in establishing a European league.
Durant’s involvement comes through an expanded partnership between his firm, Boardroom, and Qatar Sports Investments (QSI), which owns PSG. QSI has expressed interest in launching a basketball team in Paris.
durant initially held a small stake in Paris Saint-Germain via Boardroom. However, after Arctos acquired a 12.5% stake in December 2023, Durant exited that position to take a direct minority stake of roughly the same size. Arctos’ stake remains unchanged.
As part of the Boardroom-QSI partnership, Durant will consult on PSG’s broader multi-sport strategy, including potential basketball ventures. Currently, Paris Saint-Germain’s sports portfolio includes men’s and women’s soccer, youth soccer, handball, and judo.
