Munich,Germany – Get ready for a thrilling new chapter in endurance racing. BMW M Motorsport has announced that formula 1 veteran Kevin Magnussen will join their LMDh program as a works driver starting in the 2025 season.
Magnussen, a 32-year-old Dane, boasts an extraordinary resume with 185 Formula 1 races under his belt between 2014 and 2024. He burst onto the F1 scene in 2014, securing a podium finish in his debut season. His career highlights include a ninth-place finish in the 2018 drivers’ standings and a Formula Renault 3.5 title in 2013.
While Magnussen is best known for his Formula 1 exploits, he’s no stranger to sports car racing. In 2021, he competed in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship, achieving a victory and five podium finishes in the top-class DPi category. He also participated in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans in an LMP2 car that same year.
