As each NFL season begins, it’s interesting to think about who the NFL is today.

Who is currently considered the top NFL player or coach heading into the 2024 season?

Former Super Bowl-winning wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson believes the league’s current form is in Kansas City, Missouri.

“It’s Patrick Mahomes… Lamar Jackson needs to get a chance… If he really wants to be successful, I can make it happen in a split second,” Johnson recently told All the Smoke.

Johnson said Mahomes is the face of the league, but believes Jackson, a two-time MVP, should be given more marketing opportunities.

Mahomes got the chance to appear in commercials and on the cover of video games, but Jackson didn’t get that chance.

Johnson’s argument is valid.

Short of winning a Super Bowl, there’s not much that Jackson can do to prove he’s one of the league’s best stars.

The Heisman Award winner went 58-19 as a starter in Baltimore, most recently leading the Ravens to their first home AFC Championship Game in franchise history.

With the 2024 regular season starting a week later, coincidentally, with the Ravens and Chiefs playing in Kansas City tonight, Jackson and the Ravens will be looking to take another step toward a Super Bowl.

If Jackson can create a magical season that ends in a Super Bowl, he could be in line for at least a few more marketing opportunities.
