KFA Under Fire: Rep. Jin Jong-oh Exposes Alleged Cover-Up as Football Association Scandal Unfolds
Korea Football Association Criticized for Lack of Transparency
Uncooperative Korea Football Association
The Korea Football Association has been reported to be uncooperative with the National Assembly Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee’s request to submit materials.
Jin Jong-oh, a People Power Party lawmaker and former Olympic shooting gold medalist, expressed his concerns on his SNS, stating that the Korea Football Association’s organized cover-up has begun.
Criticisms and Controversies
The Korea Football Association is being criticized for failing to maintain fairness and transparency in the process of appointing Hong Myung-bo as the national team coach.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism recently conducted a direct audit of the Korea Football Association due to the growing controversy.
Soccer fans have expressed their dissatisfaction by booing the national team at home games and demanding the resignation of Chairman Jeong at the stadium.
Request for Documents and Investigation
The Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee held a general meeting and requested the Korea Football Association to submit documents related to the controversy over the appointment of Coach Hong Myung-bo.
However, the committee has not received any contact from the Korea Football Association since the documents were sent, and the documents received so far only contain general answers.
There are concerns that it will be difficult to smoothly conduct current affairs inquiries with the documents currently received.
