Ayatollah Khamenei has appointed Brigadier General Seyyed Majid Moussavi as the new Chief of the Aerospace force of the Islamic Revolution guards Corps (IRGC). This appointment follows the death of Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh, who succumbed to injuries sustained during an Israeli attack.
Khamenei, in his decree, tasked Moussavi with enhancing extensive capabilities and increasing the preparedness of missile and drone units. he also emphasized the importance of a strong presence in the aerospace sector.The leader called for strengthening the piety and insight of the IRGC’s Aerospace Division personnel,aiming to build a force aligned with the principles of the Islamic Revolution. The new role demands a focus on missile and drone preparedness.
The Israeli strike, which led to Hajizadeh’s death, occurred early Friday. In addition to Hajizadeh, several other high-ranking officials and nuclear scientists have been killed in recent Israeli strikes, including Chief of Staff Major General Mohammad Hossein Bagheri and six nuclear scientists, among them Mohammad Mahdi tehranchi and Fereydoon Abbasi.
“In view of the glorious and honorable martyrdom of Major General Amir Ali Hajizadeh at the hands of the wicked Zionist regime… I appoint you to the command of the Aerospace Force of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps,” Ayatollah Khamenei wrote in his decree.
Ayatollah Khamenei has warned of severe consequences for israel, stating that the strike has set the stage for a “bitter, painful fate” for the “Zionist regime.” The role of the Aerospace Force will be critical in any potential response.
