Russian Airstrike Hits Residential Building in Kharkiv, Ukraine
A recent Russian airstrike has hit a residential building in Kharkiv, Ukraine, leaving multiple people injured. According to Oleg Sinegubov, the governor of the targeted region, an 8-year-old child and two teenagers were among those injured in the attack.
Images from the scene show rubble in front of a multi-storey building and a burnt-out car. Ihor Terehov, the city’s mayor, announced that dozens of tenants were being evacuated and that several cars were on fire.
Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second-largest city, has been a frequent target of Russian attacks since the invasion began. Despite Russia’s initial attempt to occupy the city, Ukrainian forces have managed to hold their ground, and the city has suffered significant damage as a result.
Ukraine’s air defenses reported that they destroyed 71 of 80 attack drones launched by the Russians on Saturday night, with another six unmanned aerial vehicles neutralized by electronic means. Additionally, Russia launched two guided missiles from the occupied part of the Luhansk region in eastern Ukraine.
Russia’s defense ministry claimed that they shot down 15 drones launched by Ukraine over Russian territory during the night. According to their reports, Russian air defenses destroyed six drones over the Sea of Azov, four in the Rostov region of southern Russia, and the rest in the Kursk, Astrakhan, Belgorod, and Voronezh regions.
