Notre Dame Lands Khary Adams, Four-Star Cornerback

notre Dame secured a significant recruiting win Friday, gaining a commitment from Khary Adams, a four-star cornerback in the 2026 class. The addition of Adams enhances Notre Dame’s defensive role and overall recruiting efforts.
Adams, a standout at Loyola Blakefield High School in Towson, Md., ranks No. 246 nationally in the Rivals250. He is also the No. 5 prospect in Maryland and the No.19 cornerback in his cycle.
After his official visit to South Bend from June 13-15,Notre dame convinced Adams to join the Fighting Irish. penn State was initially considered the favorite after Adams visited Happy Valley in May.
Adams cited several factors in his decision. “Scheme,the environment and the plan they have for me,” Adams said,also noting the importance of NIL opportunities.
Adams will play under head coach Marcus freeman, defensive coordinator Chris Ash, and defensive backs coach Mike Mickens.
Before committing,Adams officially visited South Carolina,Michigan,and Maryland. He had also planned a visit to Oregon.
In addition to those schools, Adams received offers from arizona, Auburn, Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, LSU, Miami (FL.), Michigan state, Minnesota, Missouri, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Tennessee, USC, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia, and Wisconsin.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound Adams is known for his playmaking ability and speed, honed through track and field.He excels in pass coverage and demonstrates impressive ball skills. Adams also contributes as a wide receiver.
In 2024, Adams earned first-team MIAA “A” All-conference honors as a defensive back. He recorded 39 tackles, four interceptions, and 12 pass break-ups.Offensively, he had 31 receptions for 703 yards and eight touchdowns.
With Adams’ commitment, Notre Dame’s 2026 class now includes 18 players and ranks second nationally.
