A devastating Russian drone strike on a public bus in the Kherson region has left multiple people injured and one dead, with police officers also becoming targets in a subsequent attack. The incident underscores the ongoing dangers faced by civilians and first responders in the war-torn region.
Details of the Attack
According to alexander procudin, head of the Police of the Kherson region, the Russian drone struck a bus traveling in the suburbs of Kherson.Tragically, all the victims were passengers inside the bus at the time of the attack.
Initial reports indicate that multiple individuals were hospitalized, with at least two in serious condition.
But the attack didn’t end there. As police were recovering the body of the deceased from the bus, russian forces launched a second attack, this time utilizing an FPV drone. This resulted in three police officers sustaining injuries from shrapnel.
War Crime Inquiry Launched
The Kherson District Prosecutor’s Office has initiated a pre-trial investigation into the incident, classifying it as a war crime resulting in death (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).Prosecutors and police investigators are currently on-site, meticulously documenting the consequences of the attack and gathering evidence.
