KIA Tigers on the Verge of Championship
The KIA Tigers of the Korea Professional Baseball Organization (KBO) are just six wins away from securing their championship title. With a four-game winning streak, they are looking to extend their winning run to five games.
After a three-day break, KIA will face off against the Lotte Giants on September 12th at the Kia Champions Field in Gwangju. With only six wins needed to confirm their victory, KIA is in a strong position to take the championship. If they win six of their remaining 12 games, they will secure the title regardless of other teams’ results.
The earliest KIA can confirm their victory is on September 15th. If they win all their games and Samsung loses all theirs on the 12th, 14th, and 15th, KIA can hold a victory confirmation ceremony at home on the 15th. Eric Lauer will take the mound as the starting pitcher for KIA, while Lotte will feature Kim Jin-wook.
Other Teams in Action
Kiwoom, who recently appointed Jung Hyun-woo as the first pick in the ‘2025 KBO Rookie Draft’, has announced Kim Yun-ha as the starter. Kiwoom is strengthening its team by gradually reinforcing promising players, including Ahn Woo-jin, Jeong Hyun-woo, and Kim Yun-ha.
LG Twins, who are in third place, are looking to break their losing streak against Kiwoom. Son Joo-young will take the mound as LG’s starting pitcher. Meanwhile, KT Wiz is chasing LG with an alarming momentum, making it too early for LG to feel relief with their current 2.5 game lead.
KT, who has risen to 4th place after a strong comeback, will face off against the NC Dinos. ‘Ace’ Cuevas will play as the starting pitcher for KT, while NC chooses Lim Sang-hyun to prevent a sweep.
