Okinawa Prefecture Tag Rugby Tournament
Tournament Overview
The Okinawa Prefecture Tag Rugby Tournament is organized by Okinawa Prefecture, Okinawa Prefecture Recreation Association, Okinawa Prefecture Sports Association, Okinawa Prefecture Sports Promotion Committee, Okinawa City, and Okinawa City Board of Education. The tournament is supervised by the Okinawa Rugby Football Union.
Tournament Details
- Date: Sunday, October 6, 2024 (Start time: 9:00 a.m.)
- Venue: Okinawa Prefectural General Athletic Park Football Ground B
- Eligibility: Applicants must be residents of Okinawa Prefecture, have an interest in rugby or tag rugby, and be in good health.
Team Composition and Categories
Each team will consist of about 10 people and will be divided into categories.
- Elementary School Division: Mixed, Boys, Girls (Lower grades, Middle grades, Upper grades)
- Junior and Senior High School Division: Mixed/Women
- General Division: Mixed, Male, Female
Note: Mixed middle school and high school teams are limited to two male players in the game.
Competitive Methods
The matches will be “tag rugby league matches” based on age and competitive ability.
- Game Format: One game (5-1-5)
- Court Size: Preschoolers and elementary school students (14 x 20), junior high school students and above (25 x 30)
Awards and Recognition
Awards will be given to the top three teams in each league.
Participation Information
Participation fee: 100 yen per person (calculated based on the number of participants at the time of registration)

- Each team must pay close attention to the health management of their players when participating in the tournament.
- Teams including children or students must obtain parental consent and be led by an adult instructor.
- Photographs taken during the tournament may be used for posting on the official website, next year’s brochures and programs, etc.
- Please take measures to prevent infection with COVID-19, influenza, etc.
