Kim Woo-bin’s Intensive Training for Action Scene in ‘Infinite Challenge’
Actor Kim Woo-bin plays Lee Jeong-do, an energetic young man with 9th degree black belt skills in Taekwondo, Kendo, and Judo in the Netflix film ‘Infinite Challenge’. To achieve this, he studied hard in Taekwondo, Kendo, and Judo.
In a recent interview, Kim Woo-bin revealed that he learned taekwondo, kendo, and judo for three hours every day. He started by visiting a taekwondo gym with his neighborhood friends when he was in elementary school and learned, but quit when he got a yellow belt.
Kim Woo-bin confessed, “Fortunately, the martial arts director has trained in various martial arts, and in particular, has been in kendo for a long time, so he taught me directly. Experts in taekwondo, judo, and kendo taught me, so I learned for three hours, one hour each of taekwondo, judo, and kendo, just like the school schedule.”
He also recalled, “On days when I didn’t go to the gym, I did the same thing at home for three hours. I bought a sandbag that was bigger than me and practiced by kicking it for three hours.” He continued, “It’s hard to try now, but as we filmed and created harmony, I was able to do it because I focused on harmony and did the necessary movements.”
Kim Woo-bin expressed his gratitude to the martial arts team members, saying, “I’m the type of person who tries my best, so I tried my best. It’s not like I can do it alone, but we all have to work together, so I think it’s important to be accepted well. The martial arts team members accepted me well, so even though I hit them poorly, they accepted me well and I was able to do it.”
