2024 China-Portugal Sports Science Seminar – Football Science Training and Competition
This year marks the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the 25th anniversary of the establishment of the Macao Special Administrative Region, and the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Portugal. The “2024 China-Portugal Sports Science Seminar - Football Science Training and Competition” was held today at the Macau Tower Convention and Entertainment Center, hosted by the Sports Bureau, co-organized by Beijing Sport University, the School of Human Kinetics of the University of Lisbon, Portugal, the Macau Sports and Sports Science Society, and the Sports and Olympic Committee of Macau, China, and sponsored by STDM Resorts Co., Ltd., attracting about 150 coaches, athletes and sports workers from Macau and abroad to participate.
The seminar invited a number of experts and scholars in the field of sports from Beijing Sport University and the University of Lisbon in Portugal to come to Macao to give speeches on the theme of scientific football training and competition, and to share and exchange ideas with the participants.
The successful holding of this seminar not only highlights Macao’s status as the intersection of Chinese and Portuguese cultures, opens a new page for Macao’s historical role in cultural exchanges between the East and the West, but also injects new ideas into the development of “Sports+” in Macao. In addition, the seminar provided an important exchange platform for sports science experts and scholars from China and Portugal, promoted the sharing and application of sports science knowledge, promoted the development of future related research, and used this exchange of experience to help athletes improve their sports performance and overall physical level.
Guests attending the opening ceremony of the seminar included Li Shiling, Acting Deputy Director of the Sports Bureau, Fan Zhanbei, representative of the General Administration of Sport of China and Secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Sport University, Luís Sardinha, Dean of the School of Human Kinetics of the University of Lisbon, Portugal, Chan Weng Kit, Vice Chairman of the Sports and Olympic Committee of Macao, China, Wang Weili, Vice President of the Macao Sports and Sports Science Society, Leong Pui I, Senior Vice President of Corporate Brand Development and Marketing of STDM Resorts Co., Ltd., and members of the Sports Committee.
