Kicking Off the Fun: Ulleung-gun Hosts Thrilling 34th Gyeongbuk Provincial Citizens’ Sports Festival

[코리아투데이뉴스] Ulleung-gun held the ’34th Gyeongbuk Provincial Citizens’ Sports Festival’ send-off ceremony on the 23rd (Monday) and had a time of unity among the athletes.

This competition, held in Gumi City, is a festival for recreational sports enthusiasts, with approximately 10,000 athletes from 22 cities and counties in the province participating in 23 sports events, starting with the opening ceremony on the 27th and continuing until the 29th.

Ulleung-gun, which achieved excellent results in the previous competition, including winning the gateball mixed division and second place in gymnastics, participated in this competition with 140 players and officials in eight events, including gateball, ground golf, gymnastics, baseball, badminton, tennis, foot volleyball, and table tennis, and honed their skills.

At the inauguration ceremony, approximately 150 people including Namhan Gwon, the mayor of Ulleung County, Gong Ho-sik, the president of the Ulleung County Sports Association, the participating athletes, and guests attended and pledged to do their best.

The Ulleung County Governor of Namhan Gwon said, “The Provincial Citizens’ Sports Festival focuses on fostering camaraderie among athletes and creating an atmosphere of harmony among residents of the province.
