Rival Super Bowl Halftime Show Planned by Turning Point USA
Turning Point USA is organizing an alternative halftime show to coincide with the NFL’s Super Bowl performance by Bad Bunny on , according to announcements from Politico, USA Today, El Paso Times, Evrim Ağacı, and Fox News.
The event, dubbed the “All-American Halftime Show,” is intended to rival Bad Bunny’s performance, and will feature Kid Rock as its headliner. Other country musicians scheduled to perform include Brantley Gilbert, Lee Brice, and Gabby Barrett, Fox News reported.
The initiative comes from Turning Point USA, an organization founded by Charlie Kirk. The organization intends the show to “celebrate faith, family, and freedom,” USA Today noted.
Kid Rock reportedly took the opportunity to criticize Bad Bunny, stating, “Bad Bunny’s gonna throw a dance party, wear a dress, and sing in Spanish? Cool. We’re gonna play some real songs for people who love America,” as reported by El Paso Times.
Turning Point USA views the effort as a “David versus Goliath” battle, acknowledging the difficulty of competing with the NFL and a global pop star, according to El Paso Times.
The “All-American Halftime Show” will be broadcast live on Turning Point USA’s YouTube channel and X (formerly Twitter) account, as well as on conservative media partners Real America’s Voice and One America News Network (OAN), Fox News reported.
The alternative show is taking place against a backdrop of backlash faced by the NFL, according to Fox News.
