Kieran Cuddihy Joins Liveline
Broadcaster Kieran cuddihy has transitioned from RTÉ to take over the Liveline show, following the retirement of Joe Duffy earlier in 2024.
RTÉ staff were informed of Cuddihy’s departure on Thursday evening via an internal communication,confirming that his final broadcast of his previous show was on the same day.
Cuddihy’s previous role at RTÉ
Cuddihy had been a prominent voice at RTÉ since 2011, becoming the presenter of its flagship daily news and current affairs program in 2020. He also hosted a program on RTÉ television since February 2024 and recently moderated the first presidential debate broadcast on the station.
Further Presenter Changes
The move follows the declaration that Ray D’arcy is leaving his weekday afternoon slot on RTÉ Radio 1 after 11 years. RTÉ confirmed a series of presenter and program schedule changes on October 10, 2024.
Revised RTÉ Radio 1 Schedule
The updated schedule includes Today with David McCullagh from 9:00 AM, with oliver Callan extending his broadcast to run from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. louise Duffy will move to the mid-afternoon slot, and Katie Hannon and Colm Ó Mongáin will co-host Drivetime from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
A new daily sports show is also planned for a 6:00 PM timeslot.
