Danesfort Secure Senior Status with Victory Over james Stephens
Danesfort celebrated a memorable 2-20 to 1-16 win over James Stephens (Village) in the Michael Lyng Motors Hyundai Final on Sunday, earning them a spot in the senior ranks for 2026.Adrian Burke’s team played with determination, led by a strong performance from Daire O’neill in the half-back line.
The first half was closely contested, with Danesfort leading 0-10 to 0-9 at the break. James Stephens gained the upper hand in the second half when Stephen Manogue scored a goal, putting them ahead 0-15 to 0-11.
Though, Danesfort responded emphatically with goals from Anthony-Ireland Wall (50th minute) and Fionn Mahony in the closing stages, securing the intermediate crown.
